Cave de Turckheim is situated in the pretty village of Turckheim, Alsace, just slightly northwest of Colmar. Firmly established as one of the best co-operatives in the world, Cave de Turckheim always pays the utmost respect for the wine, combining rigor, know-how and patience with the latest technology.
For more than 50 years, through the expertise of passionate local winegrowers and winemakers, Cave de Turckheim produces various wines reflecting a kaleidoscope of flavors. These wines were born from a subtle alchemy of their passion, Alsace's respect for tradition and their exceptional soils. Michel Lihrmann has been their senior winemaker for more than 25 years and strongly believes that varietals in Alsace should express their delicate characteristics.
Cave de Turckheim produces an extensive range of wines, from their value-for-money Cave Tradition varietal range to the wines from three different Grand Crus. Central to Cave de Turckheim’s success is its willingness to innovate; two years ago they launched the Réserve range to great acclaim, and 2006 sees the launch of the Terroir D’Alsace range, a label change for their signature Grand Cru range. Grapes are selected from vineyards with diverse soils - limestone, granite, gravel, marl and sandstone - which impart different characters and styles to the overall blend, and harvested by hand and machine, depending on site.
